The campaign to sell Savings Bonds – issued on November 1, 2022 – began on September 29, 2022, according to the Quebec Ministry of Finance.
These 10-year bonds, repayable at any time without penalty, will bear interest at a rate of 3.75% until October 31, 2023. The rate will then vary annually depending on market conditions.
These products are offered by Épargne Placements Québec without management or administration fees. Moreover, to get it, you have to go through their transactional website. These products are supposed to be safe, flexible and advantageous in order to help Quebecers grow their investments while contributing to the development of the province.
Most of these products are eligible for Investment Savings (non-registered accounts), TFSAs, RRSPs, RRIFs, LIF and LIF accounts.
